On September 18, West Valley High School buzzed with excitement as students, families, and educators came together for the annual College and Career Fair. This annual district-wide event is open to all students and families. It features a diverse array of colleges, universities, military branches and local vendors, all dedicated to helping students explore their post-graduation opportunities. Additionally, students have the opportunity to claim their CalKIDS college savings accounts.
This year, attendees had the chance to speak with representatives from higher education institutions and businesses, offering a firsthand look at potential career paths and educational programs. Students learned about scholarships, internships, application processes, and degree programs, providing them with valuable insights to guide their future decisions. The event also showcased local organizations offering vocational training and job opportunities for those interested in entering the workforce immediately after high school.
The College and Career Fair is a crucial resource for students, helping them plan for their futures by exposing them to a wide range of options. For many, this event serves as a stepping stone, offering clarity on the next chapter of their academic or professional journeys. HUSD is proud to provide this valuable opportunity, contributing to the success of its students as they prepare for life beyond high school.
